Out at Dunkin Donuts Center on Saturday afternoon, the DePaul Blue Demons will be taking on the Providence Friars in college basketball activity.
DePaul enters this game with a 9-14 record overall. The Demons have lost six of their last seven, most recently versus Creighton Wednesday. In that one, DePaul’s Marin Maric posted 23 points.
Heading up the scoring for the Demons is Max Strus (17.0 PPG; 5.3 RPG) and Maric has 13.4 PPG and 6.3 RPG. Also in double-digits for DePaul are Eli Cain (11.6 PPG) and Tre’Darius McCallum (10.6 PPG; 6.1 RPG).
As for Providence, they’re siting at 16-8 on the year. The Friars have won their last two games versus Marquette and Georgetown. In the Hoyas game, Providence guard Jalen Lindsey managed 17 points.
Rodney Bullock is the top Providence scorer with 15.0 PPG and 6.0 RPG. Also in double-digits for the Friars are Alpha Diallo (12.7 PPG; 6.4 RPG), Kyron Cartwright (11.0 PPG; 6.2 APG) and Lindsey (10.1 PPG).
DePaul is 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the Big East. The Demons are 8-21 ATS in their last 29 Saturday games and 9-24-1 ATS in their last 34 games following an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Friars are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games and 17-8 ATS in their last 25 versus the Big East. Providence is also 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home games and the under is 6-2 in their last eight overall.
There hasn’t been a lot to like about DePaul lately, as they weren’t really getting close in their losses until the one-point Creighton defeat. Providence won the last game between these two 71-64, and I think the Friars can do it again here. I’ll take Providence.
