Providence Friars +1 O/U: 143
The Seton Hall Pirates and the Providence Friars will meet up in college basketball action on Tuesday.
Seton Hall enters this matchup at 12-5 overall this year. The Pirates have lost two of their last three games though, beating Butler and falling to DePaul and Marquette in that span.
In the loss to the Golden Eagles, Seton Hall’s Myles Powell put up 21 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Both Quincy McKnight and Sandro Mamukelashvili added 13 points apiece for the Pirates, with a combined eight assists and 12 rebounds.
Over on the Providence side, they’re 10-6 this season. The Friars are on a three-game losing skid right now, falling to Creighton, Villanova and Georgetown during that time.
In the 2OT loss to the Hoyas, Providence was led by Alpha Diallo with 24 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Nate Watson would add 21 points and seven rebounds for the Friars in the tense 96-90 loss.
The Pirates are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 versus the Big East. Seton Hall is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games and 0-4 ATS in their last four following an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Friars are 10-22 ATS in their last 32 home games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven following a straight-up loss. Providence is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games and the under is 5-1-1 in their last seven versus the Big East.
Seton Hall has some very nice signature wins on their resume already this year: Kentucky, St. John’s, Maryland, etc. and they’re just below that top tier of squads in the country. Without slip-up losses to teams like St. Louis, Louisville and DePaul, they’d probably be in the top 25.
As for Providence, they’re inside a tough part of their schedule, and things won’t get better for a while.
I’m going to stick with the stronger team in Seton Hall on the cover here.
