Purdue Boilermakers -10.5 O/U: 133
The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Purdue Boilermakers will meet up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Ohio State steps in here at 18-10 this season. The Buckeyes are 2-3 in their last three games, falling to Illinois, Michigan State and Maryland while beating Northwestern and Iowa in that time.
In the win over the Hawkeyes, Ohio State’s top scorer was Justin Ahrens with 29 points, three rebounds and two assists. Kaleb Wesson doubled up for the Buckeyes in that one with 18 points, 11 rebounds and four assists as well.
Over on the Purdue side, they’re 21-7 this year. Since dropping a game to Maryland, the Boilermakers have won their last four straight versus Penn State, Indiana, Nebraska and Illinois.
In the win over the Illini, Purdue guard Carsen Edwards led the team with 23 points and two rebounds. Matt Haarms was right there as well on 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Nojel Eastern chipped in 14 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Boilermakers.
The Buckeyes are 11-23 ATS in their last 34 Saturday games and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 overall. Ohio State is 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games and 0-6 ATS in their last six after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Boilermakers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall. Purdue is 1-3-1 ATS in their last five versus the Big Ten and 2-7-2 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games.
Ohio State’s 90-70 win over the Hawkeyes was a nice surprise; things were close in the first half but the Buckeyes took a 54-37 edge after halftime to cement the victory.
Still, toppling Purdue in that manner will be a tall order, as the Boilermakers bagged a 79-67 win the last time these teams met up. I’m going to call the Hawkeyes game an aberration and predict a hangover here. I’ll go with the Boilermakers on the home cover.
