NCAA BB | Canisius Golden Griffins (8-7) at Quinnipiac Bobcats (5-9)

The Quinnipiac Bobcats lock horns with the Canisius Golden Griffins in Friday college basketball.

The Canisius Golden Griffins have won four in a row with a 2-0 start in the MAAC in their back pocket after an 85-78 win at the Iona Gaels as a one point home dog. Canisius took a 14 point lead in to the intermission and held off a late Iona rally behind a clutch 19-22 performance at the foul line.

Jermaine Crumpton led the Golden Griffins scoring spree with 24 points and eight boards on 9-14 from the floor with Takal Molson adding 21 points and nine rebounds on 8-13 shooting. Canisius received 18 points and seven pulls from Isaiah Reese followed by a ten point effort from Jonathan Sanks on 3-7 from the field.

The Quinnipiac Bobcats have hade some problems in their non-conference schedule so a 2-0 start in the MAAC is a solid accomplishment. Quinnipiac comes in off of a 71-70 decision at the Siena Saints as a 3.5 point underdog where the team was outshot 53.1%-40.4% but sank 14 more free throws to squeeze by.

Cameron Young saved the Bobcats offense as he poured in a contest high 26 points and hauled in nine rebounds on 4-12 from the floor and 15-16 at the line. Isaiah Washington gave the Bobcats eleven points and three assists on 4-9 from the field while Rich Kelly tossed in another ten points.

Under is 7-1 in Canisius last 8 road games and under is 8-2 in Canisius last 10 overall. Quinnipiac are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games and over is 10-4 in Quinnipiac last 14 home games.

My belief is the Golden Griffins are the better team so I’m laying the small chalk here…

Canisius -2

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
