Quinnipiac Bobcats -5.5 O/U: 134.5
The Monmouth Hawks and the Quinnipiac Bobcats will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.
Monmouth limps into this game at 2-13 on the season thus far. Following a lengthy skid to open the year, the Hawks have won two of their last three games, falling to Iona and taking out Penn and Saint Peter’s.
In their win over the Peacocks, Monmouth’s lead scorer was Diago Quinn with 19 points and eight rebounds. A lot of Hawks got playing time in that one, and the only other team player to finish in double-figures was Samuel Chaput with 10 points.
Over on the Bobcats’ side, they’re 6-7 this season. Quinnipiac has lost three of their last five games, beating B-CU and Manhattan but falling to Drexel, Stony Brook and Rider in that span.
In the loss to the Broncs, Quinnipiac’s Cameron Young led the team on 24 points with nine rebounds and one assist. Also in double-figures for the Bobcats were Jacob Rigoni (14 points) and Rich Kelly (12 points).
The Hawks are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine following an ATS win. Monmouth is 1-5 ATS in their last six following a straight-up win and the over is 4-0 in their last four road games.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats are 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six versus the MAA. Quinnipiac is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 overall and the over is 4-0 in their last four home games.
Monmouth getting their first win of the year over Penn was something of a revelation, as the Quakers are a pretty darn good team this season. It’s not necessarily an indicator of anything, but the Hawks do get credit for giving their offense a shot in the arm over the last few outings.
That said—and even with Quinnipiac skidding a bit lately—I don’t think the Hawks are ready to go toe-to-toe here just yet. I’m sticking with the Bobcats.
