The Rider Broncs will travel to the People’s United Center to take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.

The Rider Broncs lost their 4th straight game and dropped to 12-12 (7-5 MAAC) on the season after being defeated by the Siena Saints, 59-57, this past Sunday. Rider fought back after trailing by a 46-36 2nd half deficit to tie the game up at 57-all with 2:00 minutes left in regulation, however, Siena took a late lead on FT’s and Rider’s Jordan Allen couldn’t hit a game-winning three-pointer as time expired. Rider shot just 33.9% from the field and 6.3% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Broncs was Tyere Marshall who had 19 points, 5 rebounds, and a block.

On the season, Rider is averaging 75.4 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field. The Broncs are averaging 6.6 three-pointers per game on 33.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Rider has been led by Frederick Scott (12.0 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.3 apg), Stevie Jordan (11.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.8 spg), Dimencio Vaughn (11.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 1.4 apg), and Jordan Allen (10.6 ppg, 2.8 rpg).

Defensively, Rider is allowing their opponents to average 74.2 ppg on 45.8% shooting from the field. The Broncs have a rebound margin of 0.8 and a turnover margin of 3.5.

The Quinnipiac Bobcats won their 2nd straight game and improved to 12-10 (7-4 MAAC) on the season after defeating the Iona Gaels, 66-65, this past Friday. Quinnipiac allowed Iona to fight back and take a late lead after the Bobcats had a 10-point lead midway though the 2nd half, however, the Bobcats were able to escape with the road victory after Cameron Young hit a game-winning FT with just :01 second left in regulation. Quinnipiac shot 44.1% from the field and outrebounded Rider by a 43-32 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Bobcats was Cameron Young who had 18 points, 5 rebounds, and an assist.

On the season, Quinnipiac is averaging 71.6 ppg on 42.2% shooting from the field. The Bobcats are averaging 10.2 three-pointers per game on 36.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Quinnipiac has been led by Cameron Young (21.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.4 spg), Rich Kelly (12.5 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.7 apg), Jacob Rignoi (10.1 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.2 apg), and Tyrese Williams (8.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.5 apg).

Defensively, Quinnipiac is allowing their opponents to average 70.7 ppg on 44.7% shooting from the field. The Bobcats have a rebound margin of 0.0.

The Broncs are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 road games and 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS loss. The Bobcats are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS win and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. MAAC opponents.

Rider has lost 5 of their last 7 games and has struggled defensively this season as the Broncs come into this game ranked just 247th in scoring defense & 288th in defensive FG%.

Quinnipiac has won 4 of their last 5 games and currently rank 12th in three-pointers made per game, 95th in 3P-FG%, and 161st in scoring defense.

Rider showed signs of trouble after dropping road games at Monmouth & Manhattan and their has to be a real panic for the Broncs lost back-to-back games at home for the first time in a long time. Quinnipiac has been playing some of their best basketball of the season as of late and as Rider is just 4-9 on the road this season, I think the Bobcats do enough to win this pick-em at home. Good Luck!
