Quinnipiac Bobcats -5 O/U: 131.5
The Saint Peter’s Peacocks and the Quinnipiac Bobcats will meet up in college basketball action on Sunday.
Saint Peter’s stumbles into this matchup at 6-12 on the season. The Peacocks are 2-2 over their last four games, falling to Fairfield and Manhattan while taking out Marist and Niagara during that span.
In the win over the Eagles, Saint Peter’s lead scorer was Davauhnte Turner, with 31 points, six rebounds and three assists. Samuel Idowu was the only other Peacocks player in double-figures there with 15 points and four rebounds.
Over on the Bobcats’ side, they’re 9-9 this season. Following consecutive wins over Monmouth and Fairfield, Quinnipiac fell in consecutive outings to Canisius and Niagara before getting a victory in their last outing versus Marist.
In the win over the Red Foxes, Quinnipiac’s Cameron Young led the team’s scoring with 29 points, six rebounds and three assists. Rich Kelly added 22 points for the Bobcats in that one, and Abdulai Bundu chipped in 14 with seven boards.
Saint Peter’s is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 versus the MAA and 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall. The Peacocks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven after an ATS win and the under is 37-14-1 in their last 52 road games.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats are 9-4-2 ATS in their last 15 versus the MAA and 19-9-2 ATS in their last 30 after an ATS win. Quinnipiac is 7-18-2 ATS in their last 27 Sunday games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five home games.
Saint Peter’s record this year is pretty ugly, but over their last half-dozen games or so the Peacocks have been pretty competitive. Furthermore, it’s encouraging to see Saint Peter’s put up 146 points across their last two wins.
That said, Quinnipiac is more of a complete team, and the Peacocks probably don’t have the secondary scoring to keep up if the Bobcats get on a roll. The over is an enticing play here, and I’m taking Quinnipiac on the cover.
