The Duquesne Dukes will travel to the Robins Center to take on the Richmond Spiders this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The Duquesne Dukes won their 2nd straight game and improved to 11-5 (2-1 A-10) on the season after defeating the Saint Joseph’s Hawks, 85-84, this past Saturday. Duquesne fought back from an early 15-point deficit in the 1st half to take a 40-39 halftime lead and was able to hand on late for the victory after 77-73 lead with just 1:54 left in regulation. Duquesne shot 49.2% from the field and 44.8% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Dukes was Michael Hughes who had 17 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 blocks, and 1 steal.

On the season, Duquesne is averaging 73.9 ppg on 43.3% shooting from the field. The Dukes are averaging 8.3 three-pointers per game on 32.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Duquesne has been led by Eric Williams Jr. (13.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.1 spg), Michael Hughes (12.1 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.3 bpg), Sincere Carry (11.2 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 5.6 apg, 3.0 spg), and Marcus Weathers (8.8 ppg, 5.9 rpg).

Defensviely, Duquesne is allowing their opponents to average 70.9 ppg on 43.3% shooting from the field. The Dukes have a rebound margin of -0.6 and a turnover margin of 1.8.

The Richmond Spiders snapped their 2-game losing streak and improved to 7-9 (1-2 A-10) on the season after defeating the George Washington Colonials, 76-56, this past Saturday. Richmond put together one of their best overall performances of the season and had no trouble securing the victory after taking a 61-45 lead with 9:00 left in regulation. Richmond shot 53.5% from the field, while holding George Washington to just 32.2% from the field & 25.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Spiders was Nathan Cayo who had 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.

On the season, Richmond is averaging 70.8 ppg on 46.5% shooting from the field. The Spiders are averaging 8.1 three-pointers per game on 33.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Richmond has been led by Grant Golden (18.2 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 2.8 apg), Jacob Gilyard (15.6 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 5.7 apg, 3.4 spg), Nick Sherod (12.7 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.3 spg), and Nathan Cayo (11.6 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.4 apg).

Defensively, Richmond is allowing their opponents to average 69.7 ppg on 47.4% shooting from the field. The Spiders have a rebound margin of -3.4 and a turnover margin of 1.6.

The Dukes are 3-1-1 ATS in their las 5 Wednesday games, however, are just 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Spiders are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games following an ATS win, however, just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Duquesne has won 3 of their last 5 games and has been a solid team on both ends of the court this season as they rank 180th in scoring offense & 171st in scoring defense. Richmond has lost 4 of their last 7 games and currently rank 259th in scoring offense, T-132nd in scoring defense, and 327th in defensive FG%.

Duquesne is a solid A-10 team this season that recently gave one of the A-10 favorites, the Davidson Wildcats, all they could handle in a 65-61 loss at Davidson. Richmond is just 4-5 (3-5-1 ATS) at home this season and as I think the Dukes defense will give the Spiders some trouble in this one, I’m taking Duquesne and the points in this one. Good Luck!

Duquesne Dukes +3
