Richmond Spiders -1 O/U: 138
The Rhode Island Rams and the Richmond Spiders will meet up in college basketball action Wednesday.
Rhode Island comes into this matchup at 7-6 overall. The Rams are just 2-3 over their last five games, taking out Charlotte and Middle Tennessee while falling to Bucknell, Hawaii and Saint Louis.
In the loss to the Billikens, Rhode Island’s Tyrese Martin led the team on 18 points and six rebounds. The only other Ram in double-figure scoring there was Jeff Dowtin with 11 points and six assists, but Dana Tate was close on nine points and 10 rebounds.
Over on the Richmond side, they’re 6-8 on the year. The Spiders are also just 2-3 in their last five, beating High Point and South Alabama with losses to Oral Roberts, Old Dominion and Dayton.
In the loss to the Flyers, Richmond guard Jacob Gillard was the only team player in double-figures with 24 points, six rebounds and four assists. No other Spider aside from Nathan Cayo (seven points; four rebounds) scored more than six points.
The Rams are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games. Rhode Island is 1-5 ATS in the last six versus the Atlantic 10 and 0-5 ATS in their last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Spiders are 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the Atlantic 10 and 19-7-2 ATS in their last 28 Wednesday games. The under is 3-0-1 in Richmond’s last four home games and the over is 26-10-1 in the last 37 overall.
It’s been a mixed bag for the Rams over their last handful of games, but for the most part they’re not getting blown out lately—so that’s something. The Rams were tied at 25 with the Billikens at halftime in that game but ultimately ran out of gas.
With the way the Spiders were shut down versus Dayton, I don’t have a whole lot of confidence in most of their team right now. I’m going to have to stick with Rhode Island here.
