The Marist Red Foxes will travel to Alumni Gymnasium (Rider) to take on the Rider Broncs this Sunday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Marist Red Foxes dropped to 7-12 (2-5 MAAC) on the season after being defeated by the Quinnipiac Bobcats, 92-78, this past Friday night. Marist trailed by just a 39-37 margin at halftime, however, struggled defensively in the 2nd half and couldn’t fight back after they went down by a 75-59 margin with 6:07 left in regulation. Marist allowed Quinnipiac to shoot 54.5% from the field and 46.9% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Red Foxes was Brian Parker who had 16 points, 4 rebounds, & 3 assists.

On the season, Marist is averaging 67.7 ppg on 45.4% shooting from the field. The Red Foxes are averaging 8.1 three-pointers per game on 36.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Marist has been led by Brian Parker (14.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 3.6 apg), Ryan Funk (10.4 ppg, 3.1 rpg), Isaiah Lamb (8.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg), and Darius Hines (7.4 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.6 apg).

Defensively, Marist is allowing their opponents to average of 70.3 ppg on 44.2% shooting from the field. The Red Foxes have a rebound margin of -2.2 and a turnover margin of 0.3.

The Rider Broncs had their 5-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 10-8 (5-1 MAAC) on the season after being defeated by the Iona Gaels, 77-71, this past Friday. Rider struggled offensively agianst the Gales and couldn’t fight back after an 8-0 Iona run gave the Gaels a 70-61 lead with 1:33 left in regulation. Rider shot just 37.3% from the field & 33.3% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Broncs was Stevie Jordan who had 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal.

On the season, Rider is averaging 77.2 ppg on 45.7% shooting from the field. The Broncs are averaging 7.4 three-pointers per game on 35.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Rider has been led by Frederick Scott (12.4 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.4 apg), Jordan Allen (12.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg), Dimencio Vaughn (11.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.5 apg, 2.3 spg), and Stevie Jordan (11.4 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.5 apg, 1.7 spg).

Defensively, Rider is allowing their opponents to average 75.3 ppg on 45.9% shooting from the field. The Broncs have a rebound margin of 0.2 and a turnover margin of 3.6.

The Red Foxes are 13-5-2 ATS in their last 20 games following a double-digit loss at home, however, are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Broncs are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Sunday games, however, just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games.

Marist has lost 4 of their last 5 games and has really struggled offensively this season as they rank just 304th in scoring offense and 148th in FG%. Rider suffered their 1st conference loss to Iona on Friday night, and although the Broncs can struggled defensively as they rank just 267th in scoring defense, the Broncs have been solid on the offensive end this season as they rank 91st in scoring offense.

Marist is just 3-8 on the road this season, while the Broncs come in undefeated at home and as I think the Rider offense will be able to put up plenty of points in this one, I’m taking Rider to cover this large home spread.

Pick:
Rider Broncs -10.5
