The Siena Saints will travel to Alumni Gymnasium (Rider) to take on the Rider Broncs this Sunday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Siena Saints won their 3rd consecutive game and improved to 12-12 (7-4 MAAC) on the season after defeating the Manhattan Jaspers, 51-49, this past Friday night. Both teams struggled offensively in this one, however, Siena came out of the gates strong in the 2nd half and was able to hold on for the win late after taking a 43-29 lead with 6:59 left in regulation. Siena shot held Manhattan to just 26.1% shooting from beyond the arc and lost the turnover battle by a 16-8 margin. Leading the way for the Saints was Evan Fisher who had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and an assist.

On the season, Siena is averaging 62.6 ppg on 43.7% shooting from the field. The Saints are averaging 8.8 three-pointers per game on 34.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Siena has been led by Evan Fisher (15.6 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.6 apg), Jalen Pickett (14.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 6.2 apg, 2.0 spg), Kevin Degnan (8.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.1 spg), and Manny Camper (6.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.3 apg).

Defensively, Siena is holding their opponents to an average of 64.7 ppg on 47.1% shooting from the field. The Saints have a rebound margin of -3.1 and a turnover margin of 0.8.

The Rider Broncs lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 12-11 (7-4 MAAC) on the season after being defeated by the Canisius Golden Griffins, 81-80, this past Friday. Rider held a 69-58 lead with just 8:39 left in regulation, however, struggled offensively down the stretch and allowed Canisius to take the lead for good when Jonathan Sanks banked in a three-pointer with just 7.9 seconds left in regulation. Siena shot 52.6% from the field & 25.0% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Broncs was Stevie Jordan who had 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

On the season, Rider is averaging 76.0 ppg on 45.3% shooting from the field. The Broncs are averaging 7.0 three-pointers per game on 34.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Rider has been led by Frederick Scott (12.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.4 apg), Dimencio Vaughn (11.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.4 apg, 21 spg), Stevie Jordan (11.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.8 spg), and Jordan Allen (10.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg).

Defensively, Rider is allowing their opponents to average 74.5 ppg on 46.0% shooting from the field. The Broncs have a rebound margin of 0.5 and a turnover margin of 3.7.

The Saints are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS loss and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Broncs are 18-8 ATS in their last 26 Sunday games, however, are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games.

Siena has won 6 of their last 7 games and although their offense can struggled scoring the basketball as the Saints rank just 340th in scoring offense, Siena has done a nice job keeping opponents off the board as they come into this game ranked 32nd in scoring defense.

Rider has lost 4 of their last 6 games and currently come into this game ranked 104th in scoring offense, 253rd in scoring defense, and 292nd defensive FG%.

Siena has been playing better basketball as of late, however, playing at Alumni Gymnasium is tough environment as prior to their loss against the Canisius, Rider had won 17 straight games at home. Rider hasn’t been playing their best basketball as of late, however, I do think they are the better overall team and as this line is a bit lower than I think it should be do to the recent success of Siena, I’m taking Rider to cover this home spread. Good Luck!

Pick:
Rider Broncs -6
