Rugers Scarlet Knights PK O/U: 135.5
The Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights will meet up on the college basketball circuit Sunday.
Minnesota enters this one with a 17-10 mark on the year. The Gophers have lost five of their last six games, dropping to Purdue, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Nebraska and Michigan in that time.
In the loss to the Wolverines, Minnesota’s lead scorers were Jordan Murphy, with 18 points, 15 rebounds and one assist, and Daniel Oturu, with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Dupree McBrayer chipped in seven points for the Gophers there as well.
Over on the Rutgers side, they’re 12-14 this year. The Knights have lost five of their last six games as well, dropping to Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa and Michigan State during that stretch.
In the loss to the Spartans, the Knights were led by Geo Baker with 17 points, six assists and two rebounds. Ron Harper was the only other Scarlet Knights player in double-figures there with 11 points and four rebounds.
The Gophers are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five road games versus a team with a winning home record. Minnesota is 6-22 ATS in the last 28 versus a team with a losing straight-up record and the under is 10-1-1 in their last 12 road games.
Meanwhile, the Knights are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the Big Ten. Rutgers is 1-5 ATS in their last six Sunday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss.
The Gophers have been through a tough patch of schedule lately, and they’re struggling to put up points. Minnesota has managed 63 points or fewer in five of their last six games, the one outlier being 84 points versus the Hoosiers.
That said, Rutgers has failed to show up on the scoreboard lately as well, and they haven’t hit 70 points in any of their last three.
I don’t really like this matchup, but with the home lift I’ll take Rutgers.
