Rutgers Scarlet Knights +9 O/U: 134
The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights will match up in college basketball activity on Monday.
Nebraska enters this one on a 13-5 record so far. Following a loss to Iowa, the Cornhuskers took wins over Penn State and Indiana before falling to Michigan State in their last game.
In the loss to the Spartans, Nebraska’s James Palmer led the team with 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Isaac Copeland was the only other Cornhusker in double-figures with 13 points, five rebounds and one assist.
Over on the Rutgers side, they’re 8-9 this season. After their last win over Ohio State, the Scarlet Knights have lost their most recent three outings versus Minnesota, Purdue and Northwestern.
In the loss to the Wildcats, Rutgers’ top scorer was Montez Mathis on 16 points, four rebounds and one assist. Also in double-figure scoring for the Knights was Geo Baker on 12 points and four assists, while Shaq Carter logged 10 rebounds and nine points.
Nebraska is 5-0 ATS in their last five Monday games and 29-9-1 ATS in their last 39 overall. The Cornhuskers are 29-9-1 ATS in their last 39 overall and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 road games.
Meanwhile, the Knights are 17-4 ATS in their last 21 Monday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the Big Ten. Rutgers is 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall.
Nebraska is settling into a groove of being a pretty good but not top-shelf team, as they’ve had some tough games lately with mixed results. The Huskers’ win over Indiana was a good one, but the Hoosiers’ struggles should factor into that final more than some might admit.
Still, Nebraska is certainly the more talented team here, and I don’t see them having too many issues with Rutgers—even in a road game. I’m going to stick with the Cornhuskers for a big win.
