Sacramento State Hornets -5 O/U: 134
The Eastern Washington Eagles and the Sacramento State Hornets will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
Eastern Washington tumbles into this one at 5-13 on the year. The Eagles were able to win consecutive home games versus Montana and Montana State, but fell in their last outing to Portland State.
In the loss to the Vikings, Eastern Washington was led by Jacob Davison with 26 points and five rebounds. Also in double-figures for the Eagles were Mason Peatling (15 points; eight rebounds) and Tyler Kidd (11 points; six assists).
Over on the Sacramento State side, they’re 8-8 this year. The Hornets are 2-1 over their last three games, falling to Southern Utah but otherwise taking out Northern Arizona and Idaho in that span.
In the win over the Vandals, Sac State’s lead scorer was Marcus Graves, who doubled up on 14 points, 10 assists and two rebounds. Joshua Patton had a good game for the Hornets as well on 13 points and eight boards.
The Eagles are 9-23 ATS in their last 32 road games and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 following a straight-up loss. Eastern Washington is 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the Big Sky and 1-6 ATS in their last seven Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Hornets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Sky and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games. Sac State is 0-5 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS win.
Eastern Washington had the lead on Portland State heading into halftime 35-33, but lost the handle from there and were outscored 45-30 the rest of the way. That bucks a trend of a couple good-scoring games from the Eagles (163 combined points).
Sac State has hit the scoring skids lately as well, failing to hit 70 points in two of their last three outings. Still, I think the Hornets hold all the leverage here, and I’m taking them on a cover.
