The Idaho Vandals go on the road to oppose the Sacramento State Hornets in a Big Sky college basketball tilt.

The struggling Idaho Vandals dropped to 1-5 in the Big Sky following a 69-51 defeat to Montana Saturday as a 12.5 point home dog.

Idaho was by just six points at the halfway point but fell victim to the Grizzlies 38-26 second half run with only 35.8% marksmanship to lean on.

Trevon Allen was the Vandals top gun with 24 points and six boards followed by a ten point, nine rebound effort by Jared Rodriguez.

Cameron Tyson contributed ten points for Idaho but seven other players combined for only nine points so production was difficult to find.

The Sacramento State Hornets fell 1-5 in the conference after a 76-71 loss to Southern Utah on Saturday as a three point road dog.

Sacramento State trailed 41-18 at the intermission but a huge second half comeback fell short with 35.8% shooting and 24 more looks still not enough.

Marcus Graves lecbbd the Hornets rally with 24 points, four boards and five helpers with Bryce Fowler tossing in 13 points.
Sacramento State received 13 points and eight rebounds from Osi Nwachukwu followed by Chibueze Jacobs and Joshua Patton netting six points each.

Idaho Vandals are 4-13 ATS in their last 17 games overall and  are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight up loss. Sacramento State Hornets are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games and  are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. Big Sky and  are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. Idaho Vandals are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Sacramento State.

If the numbers are telling the truth then Sacramento State is the choice…

Sacramento State -8

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
