The Sacramento State Hornets host Big Sky college basketball foe the Idaho State Bengals on Thursday.

Wins have been difficult to come by for the Idaho State Bengals who have not been consistent enough at either end of the floor. Idaho State will be aiming for consecutive wins after downing North Dakota 82-67 behind 53.3% marksmanship including 11-23 from distance. 

The Bengals rode the production of Brandon Boyd who poured in 27 points with five pulls and five assists while Geno Luzcando and Novak Topalovic added 14 points each and a combined 21 rebounds. Jared Stutzman gave Idaho State ten points while Gary Chivichyan chipped in with eight. 

The Sacramento State Hornets haven’t been able to score or defend well in 2017-18 and their record tells the story. Sacramento State comes off of an outstanding, albeit losing effort in a 71-69 OT defeat at Montana as a 17 point road dog. The biggest difference came at the stripe where the Grizzlies owned a 16-11 edge.

Justin Strings topped the Hornets with 21 points, seven boards and three blocks with Joshua Patton adding 14 points and eight rebounds. Izayah Mauriohooho-Le’fa gave Sacramento State eleven points and five pulls while Bryce Fowler added eight points and five yanks.
