Sacramento State Hornets -7 O/U: 144.5
The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks and the Sacramento State Hornets will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
Northern Arizona is currently sitting at 7-17 on the year. The Lumberjacks have lost their last four straight games, dropping to Eastern Washington, Idaho State, Weber State and Portland State in that time.
In the loss to the Vikings, Northern Arizona’s top scorers were Bernie Andre and Luke Avdalovic, each with 20 points. Andre added 12 rebounds and three assists there, and Cameron Shelton chipped in 15 points for the Lumberjacks.
Over on the Sacramento State side, they’re 11-11 this year. Following consecutive losses to Weber State and Northern CO, the Hornets have won their last pair versus Portland State and Southern Utah.
In the win over the Thunderbirds, Sacramento State center Joshua Patton led the charge on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Marcus Graves added 19 points for the Hornets there, and Izayah Mauriohooho-Le’afa posted 18 points.
The Lumberjacks are 0-4 ATS in the last four overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four versus the Big Sky. The over is 5-0 in NAU’s last five after an ATS loss and 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Hornets are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the Big Sky. Sac State is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS win and 1-7 ATS in their last eight Saturday games.
Even though the Lumberjacks’ recent record is pretty sketchy, they’ve been scoring well, with at least 71 in five of their last six. The issue for NAU seems to be defense these days, as they’ve given up 189 combined points in their last two.
Sacramento State hasn’t been consistent on the scoreboard themselves, but in a home game against a permissive opponent, I don’t have any problem taking the Hornets on the cover here.
