The George Mason Patriots had their 2-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 6-7 on the season after being defeated by the Kansas State Wildcats, 59-58, this past Saturday. George Mason fought back from a 20-point halftime deficit and trailed by just a 59-58 margin with :44 seconds left in regulation, however couldn’t pull out the victory after Justin Kier’s jumper came up short with just :04 seconds left to play. George Mason shot 41.1% from the field and committed just 5 turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for the Patriots was Justin Kier who had 15 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and an assist.
On the season, George Mason is averaging 72.5 ppg on 46.4% shooting from the field. The Patriots are averaging 6.3 three-pointers per game on 32.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, George Mason has been led by Otis Livingston II (13.7 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 4.6 apg, 1.2 spg), Justin Kier (13.6 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.1 apg, 2.2 spg), Jaire Grayer (10.0 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.3 apg), and Javon Greene (9.7 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 1.2 spg).

The Saint Joseph’s Hawks won their 2nd straight game and improved to 7-5 on the season after defeating the Wagner Seahawks, 59-57, this past Saturday. Saint Joseph’s took a 59-52 lead late in the 2nd half and was able to hang on for the victory despite being held scoreless over the final 4:53 of regulation. Saint Joseph’s held Wagner to 36.1% shooting from the field & 35.5% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Hawks was Charlie Brown Jr. who had 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Offensively, Saint Joseph’s has been led by Charlie Brown Jr. (20.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.0 bpg), Lamarr Kimble (17.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.6 apg), Jared Bynum (12.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.4 spg), and Taylor Funk (10.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.8 apg).
Defensviely, Saint Joseph’s is allowing their opponents to average 71.7 ppg on 43.1% shooting from the field. The Hawks have a rebound margin of -1.4 and a turnover margin of 2.8.
The Patriots are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games vs. A-10 opponents. The Hawks are 5-0 ATS in their last 10 games vs. A-10 opponents and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following an ATS loss.
George Mason has won 4 of their last 6 games and have an outstanding player in Otis Livingston II, however, the Patriots really haven’t been anything more than average this season as they currently rank T-224th in scoring offense & T-181st in scoring defense. Saint Joseph’s has one of better duos on the A-10 in Charlie Brown Jr. & Lamarr Kimble and come into this game ranked 180th in scoring offense & 195th in scoring defense. Saint Joseph’s is 5-1 at home this season which includes solid wins over Old Dominion & Loyola-Chicago and as I think Hawks will be able to generate some offense agianst the Patriots 265th ranked defensive FG%, I’m taking Saint Joseph’s to cover this large home spread.
