Saint Joseph's Hawks -5 O/U: 143
The Richmond Spiders and the Saint Joseph’s Hawks will meet up in college basketball activity on Wednesday.
The Spiders enter this one with a 7-11 mark so far. Richmond is only 1-4 in their last five, taking out GW while falling to Dayton, Rhode Island, Duquesne and Davidson during that span.
In the loss to the Wildcats, Richmond’s lead scorers were Nathan Cayo and Jacob Gilyard, each with 16 points and a combined seven assists with 10 rebounds between them. Grant Golden also chipped in 14 points with six boards for the Spiders.
Over on the Saint Joseph’s side, they’re 8-10 this year. The Hawks are 1-5 in their last six games, with a win over Davidson mixed in with losses to George Mason, GW, St. Bonaventure, Duquesne and Saint Louis.
In the loss to the Billikens, Saint Joseph’s Jared Bynum led the charge on 18 points, six rebounds and eight assists. Taylor Funk added a double-double for the Hawks on 10 points and 12 rebounds.
The Spiders are 19-9-2 ATS in their last 30 Wednesday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall. Richmond is 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the Atlantic 10 and the over is 19-7 in their last 26 versus the Atlantic 10.
Meanwhile, Saint Joseph’s is 2-7 ATS in their last nine overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six following an ATS loss. The Hawks are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games and the under is 6-0 in their last six home games.
Well, there’s not a lot to get excited about when it comes to Richmond, but every now and again they can put up points and be competitive. That doesn’t happen so often, however.
That said, this might be a decent matchup for the Spiders to take advantage of. Saint Joseph’s isn’t a great scoring team, and I think Richmond can get in on this one and cover.
