Southeast Missouri State Redhawks (14-17) at Saint Louis Billikens (17-16)
|Date & Time||Tuesday November 6, 2018, 8:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Saint Louis Billikens -19 -- Over/Under: 144
The St. Louis Billikens and the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks will be kicking off their college basketball seasons on Tuesday from Chaifetz Arena.
St. Louis comes into this season following a 17-16 campaign last year. The Billikens went 9-9 in A-10 play and finished in a four-way tie for fifth place. After beating George Washington in the A-10 Tournament, the Billikens fell to Davidson in the quarters.
The Billikens will be without some key leadership this year after the graduations of Davell Roby, Rashed Anthony and Aaron Hines, but they’ve added a few new pieces, most notably Carte’Are Gordon who comes in at power forward.
Over on the SEMO side, they’re fresh off a 14-17 year in 2017-18, and posted an 8-10 record in OVC play for a seventh-place finish. The Redhawks were ineligible for any postseason play thanks to APR violations.
The Redhawks have a few familiar faces returning this year, notably seniors Jonathan Dalton, Donnie Lewis and Mark Laros. Freshmen Alex Caldwell, Jordan Love, Nygal Russell, Sage Talbert and Gabe McGlothan will look to make an impact as well.
The Redhawks are 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven Tuesday games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall. SEMO is 1-4-1 ATS in their last six versus the Atlantic 10 and the over is 10-2 in their last 12 Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, the Billikens are 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the OVC and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 home games. St. Louis is also 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games and 16-7 ATS in their last 23 overall.
This should be a pretty interesting matchup on both sides, and will go a long way toward each team’s goals in the early-going. I’m leaning toward St. Louis here however, as they’ve added some talent and have played well ATS at home lately. Give me the Billikens.
