Mercer has lost 5 of their last 6 games and come into this game ranked 189th in scoring offense and 140th in scoring defense. Samford has also lost 5 of their last 7 games despite being ranked 97th in scoring offense, 61st in FG%, and 46th in defensive FG%.
Mercer is a tough team to bet as you just really don’t know which version of the Bears your going to get. Mercer easily covered on the road in tough games against Georgia State, NC State, and Wofford however, it’s hard to explain their recent loss on the road agianst a below average Chattanooga team. Samford is a dark horse contender in a tough Southern conference led by an explosive offense and as I think their offense will have success against the Bears defense at home, I’m taking Samford to cover this small home spread.
