BYU Cougars (8-5) at San Diego State Aztecs (6-4)
|Date & Time||Saturday December 22, 2018, 7:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: San Diego State Aztecs -3.5 -- Over/Under: 154.5
The BYU Cougars and the San Diego State Aztecs will meet up on the college basketball circuit on Saturday.
BYU enters this game at 8-5 so far. The Cougars’ losses have come at the hands of Nevada, Houston, Illinois State, Weber State and UNLV on the season.
In the Rebels game, BYU’s Yoeli Childs led the team with a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Jahshire Hardnett and TJ Haws each provided the Cougars with 19 points with nine assists and four boards between them.
Over on the San Diego State side, they’re 6-4 this season. The Aztecs have recorded wins against AR-Pine Bluff, TX Southern, Xavier, Jackson State, Illinois State and CSU Dominguez Hills.
In the Toros game, SDSU’s Matt Mitchell was the top scorer with 20 points and four rebounds. Jalen McDaniels and Adam Seiko each had 13 points, with six assists and 11 rebounds between them.
BYU is 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus the Mountain West and 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games. The Cougars are 1-4 ATS in their last five following a straight-up loss and 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games.
Meanwhile, the Aztecs are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 home games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 following a straight-up win. SDSU is 13-6 ATS in their last 19 overall and the under is 4-0 in their last four home games.
After a run of three pretty good wins, BYU was tripped up 92-90 by UNLV, a team they should probably have beaten. It’s also disappointing considering the Cougars gave up just 59 points to Utah and 66 to Portland State.
San Diego State has the chops to put up a good deal of points, so they could give BYU trouble there. I’m going with the Aztecs on the cover.
