Long Beach State 49ers (2-6) at San Diego Toreros (5-2)

The Line: San Diego Toreros -12 -- Over/Under: 149
The Long Beach State 49ers and the San Diego Toreros will meet up in college basketball action on Saturday evening.
LBSU enters this one at a shoddy 2-6 this year. The Niners have gotten wins versus Menlo and Iona, but dropped all their other games versus UCLA, Arizona State, MS State, Utah Valley, Oregon State and USC.
In the Trojans game, Long Beach State’s lead scorers were Bryan Alberts and Jordan Roberts, each with 13 points alongside five assists and nine rebounds combined. Ron Freeman added 12 points and eight boards for the 49ers.
As for San Diego, they’re sitting at 5-2 this year. The Toreros have taken out Weber State, UC Davis, SDCC, Colorado and Jackson State but fallen to Washington and Mississippi this season so far.
In the Rebels game, San Diego was led by Isaiah Wright’s 22 points, six assists and two rebounds, while Isaiah Pineiro had a nice outing on 21 points, three assists and four rebounds of his own.
LBSU is 4-1 ATS in their last five following a straight-up loss and 21-7 ATS versus the West Coast. The Niners are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 following an ATS win and the under is 8-2 in their last 10 road games.
Meanwhile, the Toreros are 5-1 ATS in the last six versus the Big West and 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 following an ATS loss. The over is 4-0 in San Diego’s last four following an ATS loss and 6-2 in their last eight home games.
Long Beach State has put up some dud performances against the tougher schools they’ve faced so far, but on the whole they’re not getting absolutely drilled in their losses.
As for San Diego, they seem to be scoring pretty consistently but are prone to surrendering truckloads of points here and there.
Still, I have to stick with the Toreros here.
