San Diego Toreros -9.5 O/U: 144.5
The Pepperdine Waves and the San Diego Toreros will meet up in college basketball action on Saturday.
Pepperdine enters this one at 8-9 on the year. After consecutive wins over Alabama A&M and LMU, Pepperdine has lost their last two outings against San Francisco and Santa Clara.
In the loss to the Broncos, Pepperdine’s Coleby Ross doubled up with 13 points and 10 assists with one rebound. Kessler Edwards also had a double-double for the Waves on 13 points with 11 rebounds and one assist.
Over on the San Diego side, they’re 12-5 this season. The Toreros are just 2-2 in their last four games, falling to Drake and Santa Clara while taking out Grand Canyon and Pacific during that time.
In the win over the Tigers, Isaiah Pineiro was the Toreros’ leading scorer on 24 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Olin Carter added 15 points for San Diego and Yauhen Massalski put up 11 points and nine boards.
The Waves are 8-1 ATS in their last nine versus the West Coast and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Pepperdine is 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and the under is 5-0 in their last five road games.
Meanwhile, the Toreros are 1-4 ATS in their last five following a straight-up win and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 versus a team with a losing straight-up record. The under is 4-1 in San Diego’s last five home games and 7-3 in their last 10 overall.
Pepperdine was looking very good against Santa Clara during the first half, going into the break leading 37-29. The Waves petered out in the second half en route to a 67-64 loss, however.
As for San Diego, they’re not necessarily blowing the doors off anyone consistently on offense right now, but they’re stout on the other side and getting the job done. I’m going to stick with the Toreros here.
