As a team, Portland is averaging 66.3 points per game on 41.4% shooting from the field, 31.8% from behind the arc and 67.2% from the foul line this season.
The San Diego Toreros will look to bounce back from a 3-game losing streak following a 79-67 loss to Gonzaga in their last outing. Portland is 6-15 ATS in their last 21 games overall and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 conference games. San Diego is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 7-3-1 in their last 11 Thursday games. Portland is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams and 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams at San Diego. The underdog is 15-3 ATS in the last 18 meetings between these two teams and the road team is 10-2 ATS in the last 12 meetings between these two teams.
I can definitely understand San Diego being favored here, with Portland being the worst team in the WCC on the road against a San Diego team that already beat the Pirates at home by 21 a month ago. However, these two teams have a history of playing each other close, with 4 of the last 5 meetings being decided by 7 points or less. The underdog has also had an immense amount of success between these two teams. I just think this is a case of too many points, so I’ll take them and side with Portland here.
