The Cal State Fullerton Titans will travel to War Memorial Gymnasium to take on the San Francisco Dons this Sunday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Cal State Fullerton Titans lost their 2nd consecutive game and dropped to 3-7 on the season after being defeated by the Saint. Mary Gaels, 81-66, this past Monday. Cal State Fullerton had no answers on the defensive end against the Gaels and couldn’t fight back after they went into halftime trailing by a 5-33 margin. Cal State Fullerton allowed Saint Mary’s to shoot 53.7% from the field and 52.4% from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Titans was Austen Awosika who had 19 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, and a steal.

On the season, Cal State Fullerton is averaging 76.5 ppg on 47.1% shooting from the field. The Titans are averaging 6.8 three-pointers per game on 32.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Cal State Fullerton has been led by Khalil Ahmad (18.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.1 spg), Kyle Allman Jr. (18.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.2 apg), Jackson Rowe (10.4 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.1 spg, 1.1 bpg), and Austen Awosika (7.6 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.0 spg).

Defensively, Cal State Fullerton is allowing their opponents to average 71.9 ppg on 40.5% shooting from the field. The Titans have a rebound margin of -2.3 and are averaging 6.7 spg.

The San Francisco Dons won their 2nd straight game and improved to 9-1 on the season after defeating the Eastern Washington Eagles, 85-63, this past Thursday. San Francisco led by just a 35-29 margin at halftime, however, had no trouble pulling away for the victory after the Dons offense dominated Eastern Washington in the 2nd half.  San Francisco shot 51.7% from the field and 44.0% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Dons was Frankie Ferrari who had 15 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.

On the season, San Francisco is averaging 80.7 ppg on 49.6% shooting from the field. The Dons are averaging 8.4 three-pointers per game on 34.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, San Francisco has been led by Charles Minlend (14.4 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.5 apg), Frankie Ferrari (12.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 6.5 apg, 1.7 spg), Jordan Ratinho (12.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.4 apg), and Matt McCarthy (11.2 ppg, 7.7 rpg).

Defensively, San Francisco is holding their opponents to an average of 58.6 ppg on 38.0% shooting from the field. The Dons have a rebound margin of 12.4 and a turnover margin of 1.7.

The Titans are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 Sunday games, however, are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Dons are 2-0-2 ATS in their last 4 games and 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.

San Francisco looks like they are in for a big season as although they haven’t played much in competition, they did beat California by 19 points on the road and gave Buffalo their toughest game of the season, in an 85-81 loss in Ireland. The Dons have been great on both ends of the court this season as they rank T-63rd in scoring offense, 10th in scoring defense, and 8th in rebound margin. Cal State Fullerton is better than their record indicates as they gave Arizona State all they could handle in a 2-OT loss and rank in the top-100 in both FG% & defensive FG%. I could see Cal State Fullerton hanging around early in this game, however, San Francisco is a really good team and as they have been outstanding at home, I’m taking the Dons to cover this spread.

Pick:
San Francisco Dons -12.5
