West coast college basketball pits the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks against the San Francisco Dons.
The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks are mired in a five game slide after a 79-74 loss at San Jose State as a one point road dog on Saturday. Northern Arizona held a ten point lead at the halfway point before San Jose State took command over the final 20 minutes. The Lumberjacks sank shots at 37.9% and were outscored 30-18 at the charity stripe.
Jonathan Andre carried the NAU offense with 21 points and eight rebounds on 7-13 accuracy and 5-7 at the line with Luke Avdalovic netting 20 points on 6-12 from beyond the arc. Davon Bolton gave the Lumberjacks 15 points and four steals on 5-8 from the field followed by an eight point, four board effort from Carlos Hines.
The San Francisco Dons improved to 10-1 following a 68-54 win against Cal State Fullerton on Sunday. San Francisco jumped all over the Titans with a 38-18 lead at the intermission before going in to cruise control behind a 49%-40% shooting edge including a 10-26 performance from beyond the arc.
Frankie Ferrari topped the Dons offense with 16 points and four helpers on 5-7 marksmanship followed by Charles Minlend with 14 points and three yanks on 4-13 shooting and 5-7 at the stripe. San Francisco saw 13 points from Jordan Ratinho on 5-10 from the floor while Matt McCarthy added seven points, six boards and three steals.
