San Francisco Dons -21.5 O/U: 136.5
The Portland Pilots will face the San Francisco Dons Thursday in college basketball activity.
The Pilots are sitting at 7-13 so far on the year. The Pilots are on a six-game losing streak, dropping to CSUF, LMU, BYU, Pacific, San Diego and Gonzaga during that stretch of games.
In the loss to the Bulldogs, Portland’s Marcus Shaver was the top scorer on the team with 18 points, two assists and one rebound. JoJo Walker added 18 points in that one for the Pilots and Jacob Tryon added 10 points.
Over on the San Francisco side, they’re 16-3 this season. The Dons are 4-1 in their last five games, with a loss to Gonzaga being the only blemish among wins against Saint Mary’s, Pepperdine, Pacific and BYU.
In the win over the Cougars, the Dons were led by Frankie Ferrari, with 21 points, seven assists and three rebounds. Adding 15 points for San Fran was Jamaree Bouyea, and Matt McCarthy put up 14 points of his own.
The Pilots are 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss and 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS win. Portland is 1-5 ATS in their last six overall and 1-7 ATS in their last eight versus the West Coast.
Meanwhile, the Dons are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 Thursday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall. San Fran is 2-6 ATS in their last eight versus the West Coast and 1-5 ATS in their last six after a straight-up win.
Portland has just hit the wall over this losing streak, and no game has really been close in that time. The Pilots have put up just 64, 64, 56, 57, 55 and 66 points respectively in each game during that run.
The line on this game is just huge, and the thing is that it’s probably about right. The Pilots won’t get close here, but I start getting leery of lines in excess of 20 points, even for a home favorite. I’m hesitantly taking Portland here—mostly because of the thick line; the Pilots are ice cold ATS lately—but in reality I’m not touching this one.
