Out at Event Center Arena on Saturday, the Colorado State Rams and the San Jose State Spartans will meet up in college basketball action.

Colorado State comes into this one at 7-7 on the year. The Rams had a three-game winning streak going before falling against Boise State their last time out. In that Boise State game, Colorado State’s top scorers were Prentiss Nixon and Anthony Bonner, each with 16 points.

Nixon is the leading Rams scorer on the season as well with 17.6 PPG. Also in the double-digit club for Colorado State this year are Deion James (10.8 PPG; 4.6 RPG) and Che Bob (10.1 PPG; 8.0 RPG).

Over on the San Jose State side, they’re sitting at 3-9 on the season. The Spartans managed a win in Santa Clara a little over a week ago but then lost versus Utah State. In that one, Ryan Welage led the Spartans with 22 points.

Welage is the leading San Jose State scorer this season, and he’s averaging 18.3 PPG with 4.5 RPG. He’s the only Spartan averaging in double-digits, and Keith Fisher leads the team in rebounding with 6.1 RPG.

The Rams are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight-up loss and 17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 versus Mountain West. Colorado State is also 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 0-7 ATS in their last seven road games.

Meanwhile, San Jose State is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 Saturday games and 21-44-2 ATS in their last 67 home games. The Spartans are also 0-4 ATS in their last four versus the Mountain West and the under is 7-3 in their last 10 overall.

Colorado State looked okay in their winning streak recently, but realistically they weren’t scoring all that well during that time. The Rams seem to do fairly well against lesser competition, however, and that should be the case here. I’ll take Colorado State.

Colorado State Rams -4
