The Line: San Jose State Spartans +15 -- Over/Under: 144
The Fresno State Bulldogs and the San Jose State Spartans will meet up on the college basketball court Wednesday.
Fresno State enters this game at 9-3 overall. Following a nice string of wins over Hawaii, Pacific, Cal Poly, Weber State, Long Beach State, Cal and TN-Martin, the Bulldogs lost their last outing versus Utah Valley 64-60.
In the Wolverines game, Fresno State’s Braxton Huggins led the team on 19 points and seven rebounds. The only other Bulldog in double-figures was New Williams with 13 points, but Nate Grimes did pull down 13 rebounds.
Over on the San Jose State side, they’re 3-9 this season. The Spartans won consecutive games versus B-CU and Northern AZ, but have dropped their last three outings to Stanford, Cal and Saint Mary’s.
In the Gaels matchup, San Jose State’s Oumar Barry was the lead scorer with 11 points, two rebounds and two assists. Michael Steadman and Noah Baumann each added 10 points, with two assists and five rebounds between them.
The Bulldogs are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Fresno State is 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four versus the Mountain West.
Meanwhile, the Spartans are 5-1 ATS in their last six versus the Mountain West and 7-15-1 ATS in their last 23 Wednesday games. San Jose State is 1-4 ATS in their last five following a straight-up loss and the under is 5-1 in their last six Wednesday games.
Fresno was scoring very well during that nice win streak, but they hit the wall versus Utah Valley and could only muster 60 points—just 28 coming in the second half.
I don’t think San Jose State has the talent to keep Fresno from bouncing back here, so I’m going with the Bulldogs in a convincing win.
