Santa Clara is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Gonzaga is 4-9 ATS in the last 13 meetings between these two teams and 2-9 ATS in the last 11 meetings between these two teams at Santa Clara.
Am I really surprised to see Gonzaga as a heavy favorite here? No, mainly because the Bulldogs haven’t lost to the Broncos since 2011. Gonzaga has won the last 18 meetings, 28 of the last 29 and 39 of the last 41 meetings between the two teams. However, in the long history between these two programs, Gonzaga has won only won one of the last 20 meetings by more than 20 points. Granted, that win came in 2017, so it’s not that long ago, but the Broncos have a history of getting up for the Bulldogs at home. Betting against Gonzaga is rarely a good idea, but sometimes history and trends push you in a certain direction so I’ll take a stab at the Broncos and the points in this one.
