The Line: Santa Clara Broncos -7 -- Over/Under: 142
The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks and the Santa Clara Broncos will meet up in college basketball activity on Saturday.
Northern Arizona enters this game at 2-3 on the year. The Lumberjacks have beaten Jacksonville and Omaha, but fallen to South Dakota, Hawaii and UC Davis this season so far.
In the Aggies game, Northern Arizona was led by Luke Avdalovic, who was the only one in double-figures with 11 points, two rebounds and one assist. Brooks DeBisschop led the rebounding with nine alongside five points for the Lumberjacks.
Over on the Santa Clara side, they’re 2-5 this season. The Broncos have lost to Prairie View, UC Irvine, Washington, Minnesota and Cal but beaten San Jose State and Jackson State
In the Tigers game, Santa Clara’s top scorer was Trey Wertz with 33 points, five assists and three rebounds. Josip Vrankic added 19 points with eight rebounds, and Josh Martin put up 14 points for the Broncos
The Lumberjacks are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 following an ATS loss. Northern AZ is also 5-16 ATS in their last 21 versus the West Coast and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.
Meanwhile, the Broncos are 5-2 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and 16-35 ATS in their last 51 home games. Santa Clara is 1-4 ATS in their last five following an ATS loss and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall.
Northern Arizona has put up a couple of solid offensive performances this year, but on the whole they’re just not scoring very well.
That said, Santa Clara is in something of the same boat, though they have played some tougher teams this season.
I’m really not expecting a whole lot from either side here, but I’ll stick with the Broncos on the cover. They’re a better team than their record dictates.
