The Line: Santa Clara Broncos +7.5 -- Over/Under: 144.5
The USC Trojans and the Santa Clara Broncos will meet up in college basketball action on Tuesday.
USC comes into this one at 5-5 overall. The Trojans’ losses have come courtesy of Vanderbilt, Texas Tech, Nevada, TCU and Oklahoma thus far in the season.
In the Sooners game, USC’s leading scorer was Nick Rakocevic, with 17 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double. The only other Trojans players in double-figures in that one were Jonah Mathews (11 points) and Jordan Usher (10 points).
Over on the Santa Clara side, they’re 5-6 this season. The Broncos have so far taken out the likes of San Jose State, Jackson State, Northern Arizona, Sonoma State and Mississippi Valley.
In the Delta Devils game, Santa Clara’s top scorer was Keshawn Justice with 16 points, five rebounds and three assists. Josh Martin posted a double-double for the Broncos in that one with 14 points, 12 rebounds and four assists.
The Trojans are 8-0 ATS in their last eight versus the West Coast and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Tuesday games. USC is 2-5 ATS in the last seven following an ATS loss and 0-4 ATS in their last four overall.
Meanwhile, the Broncos are 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the Pac-12 and 6-13 ATS in their last 19 non-conference games. Santa Clara is 7-19 ATS in their last 26 homer games and the over is 3-0-1 in their last four versus the Pac-12.
USC is now sitting on a three-game losing streak, and during that span they haven’t gotten past 70 points. The Trojans also haven’t been close on the scoreboard in any of those games.
As for Santa Clara, they haven’t exactly faced primo competition lately but they’re putting up points at a nice clip. I like the Broncos to bang out a cover here.
