The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks welcome the UT Martin Skyhawks in a Saturday college basketball tilt.
The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks opened their OVC slate with a tough 92-87 OT loss at Eastern Illinois as a 3.5 point underdog.
This was tight throughout with Tennessee-Martin connecting on 15 long balls while Eastern Illinois prevailed with a 21-12 advantage at the stripe.
Preston Parks kept the Skyhawks within striking distance with 21 points with four pulls and four assists while DelFinko Bogan added 15 points and seven boards.
Fattod Lewis gave UTM 14 points and nine rebounds followed by Kevin Little and Quintin Dove with 12 points and ten points respectively.
The Southeast Missouri State Redbirds began conference play with a 94-88 defeat at SIU-Edwardsville as a two point road dog.
Southeast Missouri State fell behind by 15 points in the first half and a second half rally fell short with the Cougars holding a 58.3%-51.7% edge in marksmanship.
Skylar Hogan led the big offense of the Redhawks with 18 points with Isaiah Gable adding 17 points and six rebounds followed by a 14 point effort from Mark Laros.
Nygal Russell gave SE Missouri State eleven points and four boards while Jonathan Dalton tossed in ten points and handed out eight assists.
