The Big East college basketball quarterfinals pits the Butler Bulldogs against the Seton Hall Pirates.

The Butler Bulldogs finished 5th in the Big East and did not close the regular season strong with losses in five of seven which cost the team a top four finish. Butler outscored opponents 79.6-72.3 but didn’t match those numbers in the final weeks.

Kelan Martin carried the Bulldogs offense and was one of the best players in the conference with 21.2 points and 6.4 rebounds followed by Kamar Baldwin with 14 points and nearly five boards. Paul Jorgensen gave Butler 10.7 points and 5.2 boards so scoring came easy the majority of the time.

The Seton Hall Pirates closed 2017-18 with wins in four of five including a victory versus Butler in the regular season finale’ to secure a 4th place finish. Seton Hall was no stranger to scoring the basketball as teams were outscored 79.2-73.3.

Desi Rodriguez topped the Pirates attack with 18.1 points and five boards on 50.4% followed by Myles Powell with 15.6 points. Seton Hall received 14.8 points from Kadeen Carrington while Angel Delgado supplied 13.4 points and 11.6 rebounds.

Under is 6-2 in Butler last 8 neutral site games and under is 10-4-1 in Butler last 15 Thursday games. Over is 7-2 in Seton Hall last 9 overall and over is 7-2 in Seton Hall last 9 vs. Big East and over is 28-11 in Seton Hall last 39 Thursday games. Butler  are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings.

Seton Hall has listed Rodriguez as questionable with an ankle injury so his health is a question mark but he will play I believe. I might leave this alone because of this…

Seton Hall +1.5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
