Seton Hall Pirates -4.5 O/U: 142.5
The Providence Friars and the Seton Hall Pirates will match up on the college basketball circuit Wednesday.
Providence is currently sitting at 13-7 on the season. After falling to Marquette January 20, the Friars have won their last two games against Xavier 64-62 and DePaul 70-67.
In the win over the Blue Demons, Providence’s lead scorer was Alpha Diallo on 20 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Nate Watson gave the Friars 14 points and five boards in that one, and Drew Edwards added 13 points.
Over on the Seton Hall side, they’re 12-8 this season overall. The Pirates have lost their last four straight games, dropping to Marquette, Providence, DePaul and Villanova.
In the loss to the Wildcats, Seton Hall’s only double-digit scorer was Myles Cale, with 14 points and six rebounds. Michael Nzei put up seven points for the Pirates there, and Sandro Mamukelashvili managed seven rebounds.
The Friars are 6-2 ATS in their last eight following an ATS loss and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games. Providence is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the Big East.
Meanwhile, the Pirates are 1-5 ATS in their last six overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six versus the Big East. Seton Hall is 0-5 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss and 0-5 ATS in their last five home games.
The last time these two teams met up, Providence secured a 72-63 home victory. Things were tight until the second half, where the Friars outscored Seton Hall 42-30.
The Pirates are getting a swing in their favor with the line thanks to the fact that they’re at home in this one, but looking at the Friars’ recent results they’ve been pretty competitive. If Seton Hall is going to take this one, it’ll likely be tight, so I’m going to go with Providence on the cover here.
