Wofford Terriers -3 O/U: 143
The Seton Hall Pirates and the Wofford Terriers will meet up on the college basketball court in the NCAA Tournament First Round Thursday.
Seton Hall is sitting at 20-13 overall. The Pirates managed wins in their first two games of the Big East Tournament versus Georgetown and Marquette, but fell in a thriller to Villanova back on Saturday.
In the loss to the Wildcats, Seton Hall’s top performer was Myles Powell with 25 points, five rebounds and four assists. Anthony Nelson added 12 points for the Pirates there, and Sandro Mamukelashvili put up 14 rebounds and seven points.
Over on the Wofford side, they’re 29-4 this year. The Terriers didn’t have too many issues in the Southern Conference Tournament, plowing through VMI, East Tennessee State and UNC Greensboro.
In the win over the Spartans, Wofford’s Nathan Hoover and Fletcher Magee each scored 20 points, and Hoover added five rebounds. Cameron Jackson was also in double-figures for the Terriers there with 15 points, five assists and seven boards.
The Pirates are 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS win and 5-0 ATS in their last five overall. Seton Hall is 20-7 ATS in their last 27 Thursday games and 19-7-7 ATS in their last 27 neutral-site games.
Meanwhile, the Terriers are 6-0 ATS in their last six after an ATS win and 5-0 ATS in their last five neutral-site games. Wofford is 11-1 ATS in their last 12 overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight Thursday games.
Seton Hall has had some late-season stumbles, but they earned back a lot of respect on the national stage with the big win over Marquette and the 74-72 nail-biter versus Villanova that pushed the Wildcats to the brink.
Even though Wofford is on a nice roll right now, Seton Hall could very easily throw a wrench into the whole program. This should be a good game, but in the end I like Wofford to assert themselves and eke out a cover.
