The Canisius Golden Griffins and the Siena Saints will meet up in college basketball activity on Saturday.
Canisius enters this one at 4-8 on the year so far. The Griffins are 2-2 in their last four, falling to Holy Cross and Buffalo while taking out Elon and Marist.
In the Thursday win over the Foxes, Canisius’ lead scorer was Takal Molson with 19 points and four rebounds. Jibreel Faulkner added 18 points, two rebounds and two assists for the Griffins in that one.
Over on the Siena side, they’re sitting at 5-9 this year. The Saints are just 1-3 in their last four games, beating Cal Poly but falling to Charleston, Holy Cross and Saint Peter’s.
In the Peacocks game, Siena’s Evan Fisher put up 23 points with six rebounds to lead the team. Also in double-figures for the Saints were Jalen Pickett (16 points; eight assists; four rebounds) and Sloan Seymour (12 points).
Canisius is 6-2 ATS in their last eight following a straight-up win and 15-5-1 ATS in the last 21 versus the MAA. The Griffins are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 overall and 0-5 ATS in their last five Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Saints are 4-0 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 5-0 ATS in their last five following a straight-up loss. Siena is 1-4-1 ATS in their last six versus the MAA and the over is 4-1 in their last five following an ATS loss.
The Saints have a few solid scorers on their team this year, but they’ve been pretty darn bad at putting up points—especially lately. Across their last four games, Siena has gotten past 60 points just once, and if that’s a trend it’s going to be trouble for the Saints. I’m going to have to stick with Canisius here.
