The Iona Gaels and the Siena Saints will meet up on the college basketball circuit Wednesday.

Iona is sitting at 8-15 on the season. Following a four-game losing streak versus Fairfield, Marist, Siena and Quinnipiac, the Gaels got a win in their last outing Sunday versus Niagara.

In the win over the Eagles, Iona’s top scorer was EJ Crawford on 21 points, four rebounds and three assists. Asante Gist added 19 points for the Gaels in that victory, and Rickey McGill logged 18 points with eight assists.

Over on the Siena side, they’re 13-12 on the year. The Saints have won their last four straight games, bagging victories over Iona, Fairfield, Manhattan and Rider during that stretch.

In the win over the Broncs, Siena’s top scorer was Evan Fisher with 21 points, eight rebounds and one assist. Kadeem Smithen was the only other Saints player in double-figures there with 16 points and six rebounds.

The Gaels are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 after a straight-up win and 6-20 ATS in their last 26 overall. Iona is 3-13 ATS in their last 16 road games and 0-5 ATS in their last five versus the MAA.

Meanwhile, the Saints are 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus the MAA. Siena is 4-11 ATS in their last 15 after a straight-up win and the under is 6-0 in their last six home games.

The Gaels put up a nice well-rounded effort against Niagara in their last game, with all five starters finishing in double-figures. It was a scoring splurge that had been absent in their previous pair, where Iona logged a total of 119 points.

The last time these teams met was a 56-54 road win for the Saints, but I like the Gaels to play better here. I’m going with Iona on the cover.

Iona Gaels +2
