AAC college basketball pits the Houston Cougars at the SMU Mustangs on Wednesday.

The Houston Cougars bounced back from their first loss of the season to upend Wichita State 79-70 as a ten point home favorite on Saturday.

Houston trailed by five points entering the break before taking control with a 46-32 second half run behind 49% marksmanship.

Corey Davis Jr. poured in 20 points  and  posted  four  pulls with Armoni Brooks giving the Cougars 14 points and five boards.

Houston received 13 points from Dejon Jarreau followed by Fabian White Jr. with another 12 points while Galen Robinson Jr. added six points, five pulls and eleven assists.

The SMU Mustangs upped  their  conference record to 3-1 after defeating visiting Tulsa 77-57 on Saturday as a nine point favorite.

SMU took control early with an eleven point lead after 2o minutes and never took their foot off of the gas with 41% shooting and 13 long balls doing plenty of damage.

Jahmal McMurray paced the big offense of the Mustangs with 22 points and four pulls while Ethan Chargois adding 18 points and five boards.

SMU saw ten points, ten rebounds and four helpers from Jimmy Whitt Jr. followed by Isiaha Mike with eight points, six boards and four helpers.
