SMU Mustangs -4 O/U: 136
The South Florida Bulls and the SMU Mustangs will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.
USF enters this one on a 15-6 mark overall. Following a loss to Houston on January 19, the Bulls have win their last three versus Wichita State, East Carolina and Memphis.
In the win over the Tigers, South Florida’s David Collins led the team on 20 points with five rebounds and two assists. Justin Brown added 19 points for the Bulls in that one and Laquincy Rideau posted 15 points.
Over on the SMU side, they’re 12-9 this year. The Mustangs have lost four of their last five games, dropping to Houston, Memphis, Wichita State and Cincinnati in that time.
In the loss to the Bearcats, SMU’s Jahmal McMurray led the way on 21 points with four assists and two rebounds. Isiaha Mike added 17 points with six rebounds for the Mustangs in that game, and Jimmy Whitt posted 12 points and six boards.
USF is 11-1 ATS in the last 12 versus the AAC and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 road games. The Bulls are 13-3 ATS in the last 16 after an ATS win and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Mustangs are 5-11-1 ATS in the last 17 after an ATS win and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight Thursday games. SMU is 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five versus the AAC.
South Florida posted a nice win over a decent Memphis team in their last outing, and they’ve been scoring well over their last two games. In that pair, the Bulls have logged 161 total points.
As for SMU, they’ve been competitive but have also posted a few real stinkers over the last month or so. I’m going to take the Bulls to stick around in this one and bang out a cover—they’re pretty hot ATS in a lot of facets these days.
