NCAA BB | Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans (5-19) at South Alabama Jaguars (11-12)

Sun Belt college basketball gives us a matchup between the South Alabama Jaguars and the UALR Trojans.

The UALR Trojans only goal following a six game slide is to escape the conference basement. UALR comes off of an 81-51 defeat to Georgia State as a six point home dog where the team struggled at both ends of the floor with the Panthers holding a 52.9%-36.7% shooting edge.

Arkansas Little Rock fell short on offensive options with one player cracking double figures in scoring. Cameron Corcoran was the Trojans best player with 15 points on 5-8 from the floor including 4-7 from beyond the arc while Andre Jones and Ben Marcus chipped in with seven points apiece.

The South Alabama Jaguars have seen an opportunity to move up the Sun Belt standings go by the wayside with a three game skid. South Alabama comes in off of an 80-63 loss at the Troy Trojans as a seven point underdog. The Jaguars were held to 38.5% marksmanship which made the Trojans 41.9% and ten more looks a winner.

South Alabama saw the twosome of Trhae Mitchell and Josh Ajayi score 17 points apiece with five boards each on 11-17 from the floor. Rodrick Sikes gave USA 12 points and four pulls on 3-17 shooting while five others added 3-4 points each.

An argument can be made for backing either side with so I’m just backing the points in a toss up…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
