The South Alabama Jaguars take the floor with the Richmond Spiders in Saturday college basketball action.

The Richmond Spiders upped their record to 5-7 with a 74-59 victory against High Point as a three point favorite. Richmond led by 14 points at the intermission and trade baskets the rest of the way behind a 50%-44% shooting edge and a 24-12 advantage at the stripe.

Nathan Cayo was the Spiders top offensive threat with 20 points on 7-8 marksmanship and 6-7 at the stripe with Grant Golden adding 19 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks on 5-8 from the field and 8-11 at the line. Richmond received 18 points, nine helpers and seven steals from Jacob Gilyard on 4-9 and 8-8 at the line followed by Jake Wojcik with eight points.

The South Alabama Jaguars are gunning for a third consecutive win following an 86-47 victory against sub-division Mobile. South Alabama held a 53.1%-30.8% shooting edge with 12 more shot attempts off of 16 Mobile turnovers.

Thrae Mitchell led all scorers with 28 points, eight boards and three blocks on 12-15 marksmanship with Kory Holden giving the Jaguars 14 points on 4-13 shooting. Josh Ajayi added 16 points and elven rebounds on 7-8 accuracy while USA received nine points from Rodrick Sikes on 3-10.

Over is 8-2-1 in Richmond last 11 Saturday games and Richmond are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and over is 37-18-2 in Richmond last 57 overall. Under is 9-2 in South Alabama last 11 overall and under is 35-16 in South Alabama last 51 non-conference games.

I believe South Alabama will be a factor in the Sun Belt and find a way to win and cover…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
