South Alabama Jaguars -1.5 O/U: 131
The Texas-Arlington Mavericks and the South Alabama Jaguars will meet up on the college basketball circuit Thursday.
UT-Arlington enters this one with a 13-15 mark on the year. Following a three-game losing streak versus Little Rock, Arkansas State and Louisiana, the Mavericks won their last outing versus LA-Monroe.
In the 2OT win over the Warhawks, Texas-Arlington’s top scorer was Brian Warren with 33 points, four rebounds and three assists. Radshad Davis added 12 points with seven rebounds, and Tiandre Jackson-Young put up 12 points.
Over on the South Alabama side, they’re 13-14 this year. After losing three straight versus Little Rock, Georgia Southern and Georgia State, the Jaguars won their last game versus Troy on Saturday.
In the win over the Trojans, South Alabama’s Josh Ajayi led the team on 18 points with four rebounds. Trhae Mitchell added 16 points, 14 rebounds and five assists for the Jaguars in that one, and Rodrick Sikes had 11 points.
The Mavericks are 8-1 ATS in their last nine after an ATS win and 7-1 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up win. Texas-Arlington is 10-3 ATS in their last 13 overall and 6-2 ATS in the last eight Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 5-1 ATS in the last six after an ATS win. South Alabama is 21-6-1 in their last 28 Thursday games and 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 overall.
Texas-Arlington had a pretty good run of games going there for a while, and probably should have beaten Little Rock and Arkansas State (the Mavs lost by four in each of those games).
As for South Alabama, they’ve been pretty hit-and-miss on the scoreboard lately, but coming home after a three-game road swing should help out here. I’m sticking with the Jaguars.
