Texas State at South Alabama
|Date & Time||Saturday March 2, 2019, 8:00 PM (EST)|
South Alabama Jaguars +2.5 O/U: 129
The Texas State Bobcats and the South Alabama Jaguars will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
Texas State comes in here with a 23-6 mark so far. Following a loss to LA-Monroe last Thursday, the Bobcats have won their last two games versus Louisiana and Troy.
In the win over the Trojans, Texas State’s Nijal Pearson put up 15 points with six rebounds to lead the team. Mason Harrell was the only other Bobcats player in double-figures in that game, with 14 points, three rebounds and four assists.
Over on the South Alabama side, they’re 13-15 this season. The Jaguars are just 1-4 in their last five outings, beating Troy and falling to Little Rock, GA Southern, Georgia State and TX-Arlington in that time.
In the loss to the Mavericks, South Alabama was led by Josh Ajayi doubling up on 18 points and 10 rebounds with three assists. Trhae Mitchell was the only other Jaguar in double-digits there with 17 points and four boards.
The Bobcats are 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win and 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 road games. The under is 4-0 in Texas State’s last four overall and 4-1 in the last five Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss and 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games. South Alabama is 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games and 1-3-1 ATS in the last five overall.
The last time these two squads met up was a pretty good game. Texas State ended up eking one out 73-70 at home, so we could see another close one here.
The Bobcats can get into a little trouble when they start allowing those higher points totals, but I really don’t think the Jaguars have that type of firepower on a consistent basis. I’m going to stick with Texas State here on a hard-fought cover.
