The Clemson Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks will meet up in college basketball action on Saturday.

Clemson comes in here at 8-3 overall. The Tigers have recorded victories over the Citadel, NC Central, Sam Houston, Akron, Georgia, Saint Peter’s, Radford and Charleston Southern.

In the Buccaneers game, Clemson’s Elijah Thomas came up big on a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds, while Aamir Simms chipped in 15 points with one rebound and Shelton Mitchell added 14 points with six assists.

Over on the Gamecocks’ side, they’re sitting at 4-6 overall this year. South Carolina has dropped games to Stony Brook, Providence, Wofford, Wyoming, Michigan and Virginia this season so far.

In the Cavaliers matchup, South Carolina’s Chris Silva led the team on 11 points and six rebounds. The only other Gamecocks player in double-figures was Hassani Gravett with 10 points and four rebounds.

The Tigers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight versus the SEC, and 4-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS win. Clemson is 1-5 ATS in their last six non-conference games and 1-5 ATS in their last six overall.

Meanwhile, the Gamecocks are 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 overall. South Carolina is 6-13 ATS in their last 19 versus the ACC and 0-7 ATS in their last seven home games.

Clemson has been having a pretty good season so far, and though they would have liked to knock off Nebraska they were competitive there, as they’ve been in just about every game this year.

As for South Carolina, they’ve had a mixed bag of results so far, and I’m not ready to trust them at this point.

I’m going with the Tigers on the cover.
