The Fort Wayne Mastodons and the South Dakota State Jackrabbits meet in college basketball action from Frost Arena on Sunday.
Fort Wayne comes in here at 12-15 on the year. The Mastodons are 2-2 in their last four games, with wins over Western IL and Denver between losses to ND State twice.
In the latest loss to the Bison, Fort Wayne’s Jarred Godfrey led the team on 20 points with four assists and two rebounds. Dylan Carl added 16 points with eight rebounds there, and Matt Holba had 13 points with four rebounds.
Over on the Jackrabbits’ side, they’re 19-8 on the year. South Dakota State is on a five-game winning streak, beating ND State, Oral Roberts, Western IL, Omaha and Denver in that time.
In the win over the Pioneers, South Dakota State’s Doug Wilson posted 23 points and eight rebounds, and Matt Dentlinger doubled up on 22 points and 11 boards. Noah Freidel added 16 points, eight assists and seven rebounds there also.
SD State is 5-2 ATS in the last seven Sunday games and 24-9-1 ATS in their last 34 after an ATS loss. The Jackrabbits are 35-15-1 ATS in their last 51 home games and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 overall.
Meanwhile, the Mastodons are 1-4 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five road games. The under is 15-5-1 in the Mastodons’ last 21 overall and 8-3-1 in their last 12 road games.
Outside of the two games versus the Bison, the Mastodons have played pretty well over their last half-dozen outings, hitting 70 points in five of those overall and each of their last three.
The last time these teams met was a 70-61 road victory for South Dakota State. Considering the Jackrabbits have scored 70 or more in each of their last 14 games, I don’t see them having too many issues here. I’m going South Dakota State.
