The Drake Bulldogs and the Southern Illinois Salukis meet in MVC college basketball action from the SIU Arena on Tuesday night.

The Drake Bulldogs will look to put out some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last 5 games following an 83-77 win over Northern Iowa in their last outing. Nick McGlynn led the Bulldogs with 22 points on 8 of 12 shooting with 7 rebounds, 3 steals and a pair of blocks while D.J. Wilkins added 18 points with a team-high 5 assists and a pair of steals. Tremell Murphy added 15 points and a team-high 8 rebounds while Brady Ellingson added 12 points with a pair of threes and 3 assists to round out the quartet of double-digit scorers for Drake in the win. Noah Thomas added 7 points and 3 steals while Anthony Murphy had 9 points and 7 rebounds. McGlynn leads Drake with an average of 15.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while Wilkins leads the Bulldogs in assists with 2.9 assists per game this season. As a team, Drake is averaging 76.3 points per game on 47.5% shooting from the field, 36.5% from behind the 3-point line and 73.4% from the foul line this season.

The Southern Illinois Salukis will look to find some consistent play of their own after splitting their last 8 games after a 78-73 win over Evansville in their last outing. Kavion Pippen led the Salukis with 18 points on 7 of 13 shooting with a pair of blocks while Aaron Cook added 15 points with a team-high 7 assists and 3 steals. Sean Lloyd Jr. chipped in 14 points with a team-high 8 rebounds and 3 steals while Armon Fletcher added 13 points and Eric McGill chipped in 12 points to finish off the group of double-digit scorers for SIU in the winning effort. Pippen leads Southern Illinois in scoring with 12.1 points per game while McGill leads the Salukis on the glass with 6 rebounds per game and Cook leads Southern Illinois in assists with 3.7 assists per game this season. As a team, Southern Illinois is averaging 68.1 points per game on 46.6% shooting from the field, 37.7% from behind the 3-point line and 69% from the foul line this season.

Drake is 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 road games while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 Tuesday games. Southern Illinois is 2-6 in their last 8 home games and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Drake is 13-6-1 ATS in the last 20 meetings between these two teams and 7-2-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings between these two teams at Southern Illinois.

Both of these teams are not what you would see in the dictionary next to the word consistency as both have been up and down lately. However, Drake has been a machine ATS for most of the season and haven’t had any issues taking their talents on the road, including the SIU Arena where the Bulldogs have had a lot of success over the years. I personally think the wrong team is favored in this one, so I’ll take a shot with Drake and the points in this one.
