Saturday MVC college basketball action pits the Illinois State Redbirds against the Southern Illinois Salukis.

The Illinois State Redbirds have won two straight after upending visiting Missouri State 65-57 as a two point favorite.

Illinois State is locked in a three way tie for 4thin the Missouri Valley standings with Bradley and Southern Illinois with a game to play.

Milik Yarbrough carried the Redbirds on his shoulders with a game high 28 points and nine rebounds with Phil Fayne adding 18 points and seven boards.

Illinois State received seven points and six rebounds from Rey Idowu followed by William Tinsley with five points and five pulls.

The Southern Illinois Salukis have a three game winning streak within their grasp after knocking off Evansville 98-91 on the road Wednesday.

Southern Illinois is making a late season run to crack the top four in the conference and have won three of four with a game left.

Armond Fletcher was the star of the game with 34 points and eight rebounds while Sean Lloyd Jr. added 19 points and three yanks.

The Salukis saw 15 points and four pulls from Eric McGill followed by Aaron Cook and Kavion Pippen with 12 and nine points.
