Wednesday college basketball brings us to the MVC where the Northern Iowa Panthers visit the Southern Illinois Salukis.

The Northern Iowa Panthers were denied a third straight win in a 75-66 loss to Valparaiso on Saturday as a 3.5 point road dog.

Northern Iowa was down six points at the halfway point and couldn’t mount a comeback with 43.8% marksmanship to lean on.

AJ Green kept the Panthers in contention with a contest high 25 points and four pulls while Luke McDowell added 13 points, five pulls and three assists.

Trae Berhow gave Northern Iowa eight points followed by Wyatt Lohaus and Isaiah Brown with seven points apiece with Brown posting three yanks.

The Southern Illinois Salukis have dropped four in a row after a 57-54 loss to Bradley on Sunday as a seven point home favorite.

Southern Illinois went to the locker room with a 26-20 advantage but could not put the Braves away with only 39.2% shooting.

Armon Fletcher topped the Salukis offense with 13 points and five pulls with Aaron Cook contributing 12 points and five helpers.

SIU received another eleven points and four boards from Eric McGill followed by Thik Bol added eight points and six rebounds.

Northern Iowa Panthers are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 vs. Missouri Valley and  are 9-24-1 ATS in their last 34 road games and  are 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 games overall. Southern Illinois Salukis are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games and  are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall and  are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 vs. Missouri Valley.Under is 12-3 in the last 15 meetings in Southern Illinois and under is 21-6 in the last 27 meetings.

I see a matchup where neither looks all that enticing so I’ll just take the points…
